1 Enoch 76

1And at the ends of the earth I saw twelve portals, and all of them were open for all the winds, from which the winds go out and blow upon the earth.

2Three of them are open at the face of heaven, and three in the west, and three at the right of heaven, and three at the left.

3And the first three are toward the east, and three toward the north, and three after these, on the left, toward the south, and three toward the west.

4Through four of them come forth winds of blessing and peace, and from those eight come forth winds of scourging; when they are sent out, they bring ruin upon all the earth and the water on it, and upon all who dwell on it, and upon everything that is in the water and on the dry land.

5And the first wind goes out from those gates, whose name is the east wind, through the first gate that is toward the east; and turning toward the south, from it come forth desolation, drought, death, and destruction.

6And through the second middle gate abundance comes out, and from it come rain and fruit and peace and dew; and through the third gate, which is toward the south, frost comes out and dryness.

7And after these winds, by the way of the south they go out through two gates; through the first gate, which inclines toward the east, there comes out a wind of death.

8And through the middle opening, which is beside it, there come out from it a pleasant fragrance, and dew, and rain, and peace, and life.

9And through the third opening, toward the west, there come out from it dew and rain, and frost and destruction.

10And after these, winds from the south—whose name is Sea, and which come out from the seventh opening that is toward the east—dew comes forth from it.
