Leviticus 24

1Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Command the sons of Israel that they bring to you pure oil of beaten olives for the light, to keep a lamp burning continually.

3Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it from evening until morning before Yahweh continually. It is a permanent statute throughout your generations.

4On the pure lampstand he shall arrange the lamps before Yahweh continually.

5And you shall take fine flour and bake it into twelve loaves; each loaf shall be of two-tenths of an ephah.

6And you shall place them in two rows, six in each row, on the pure table before Yahweh.

7And you shall put pure frankincense on each row, and it shall be for the bread as a memorial portion, a food offering to Yahweh.

8Every Sabbath day he shall arrange it before Yahweh continually, from the sons of Israel as an everlasting covenant.

9It shall belong to Aaron and to his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, because it is most holy to him from the food offerings of Yahweh, a permanent statute.

10The son of an Israelite woman, and he was the son of an Egyptian man, went out among the sons of Israel; and in the camp the son of the Israelite woman and an Israelite man fought.

11The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed, and they brought him to Moses. Now his mother's name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.

12So they put him in custody, to clarify for them according to the word of Yahweh.

13Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

14Bring the one who cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

15And you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘If any man curses his God, then he shall bear his sin.

16Whoever blasphemes the name of Yahweh shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The sojourner as well as the native-born—when he blasphemes the Name—shall be put to death.

17And if a man strikes down any human being, he shall surely be put to death.

18And whoever strikes down an animal shall make restitution for it: life for life.

19And if a man inflicts an injury on his fellow, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him.

20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he inflicts an injury on a person, so it shall be inflicted on him.

21And whoever strikes down an animal shall make restitution for it, but whoever strikes down a man shall be put to death.

22There shall be one standard of judgment for you, for the sojourner as for the native, for I am the LORD your God.

23So Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought the one who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. Thus the sons of Israel did as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
