Leviticus 26

1You shall not make idols for yourselves, and you shall not set up for yourselves a carved image or a standing stone, and you shall not place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am Yahweh your God.

2You shall keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary; I am Yahweh.

3If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments and do them,

4then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land will yield its produce, and the tree of the field will give their fruit.

5Your threshing will last for you until the grape harvest, and the grape harvest will last until sowing; and you will eat your bread to the full and live securely in your land.

6And I will give peace in the land, and you will lie down, with no one making you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your land.

7You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword.

8Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword.

9And I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish my covenant with you.

10You will eat old stores long kept, and you will clear out the old because of the new.

11And I will set my dwelling place among you, and my soul will not abhor you.

12I will walk among you and will be your God, and you will be my people.

13I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from being their servants; I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright.

14But if you do not listen to me and do not do all these commandments,

15and if you reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my judgments, so that you do not do all my commandments, thereby breaking my covenant,

16I also will do this to you: I will appoint over you sudden terror, wasting disease and fever, consuming the eyes and draining the life; and you will sow your seed in vain, and your enemies will eat it.

17And I will set my face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one is pursuing you.

18And if, despite these things, you do not listen to me, then I will continue to discipline you sevenfold for your sins.

19And I will break the pride of your strength, and I will make your heavens like iron and your land like bronze.

20Your strength will be spent in vain, and your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not yield their fruit.

21And if you walk contrary to me and are not willing to listen to me, then I will continue to strike you sevenfold according to your sins.

22And I will send against you the wild animals of the field, and they will bereave you, cut off your livestock, reduce your number, and your roads will become desolate.

23And if by these things you are not corrected by me, but walk contrary to me,

24then I also will walk contrary to you, and I myself will strike you sevenfold for your sins.

25And I will bring against you a sword executing the vengeance of the covenant, and you will be gathered into your cities. Then I will send pestilence among you, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy.

26When I break your supply of bread, ten women will bake your bread in a single oven and return your bread by weight; and you will eat, but you will not be satisfied.

27But if in spite of this you will not listen to me, and you walk contrary to me,

28then I also will walk contrary to you in furious hostility, and I myself will discipline you sevenfold for your sins.

29And you will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.

30And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and place your corpses on the carcasses of your idols, and my soul will abhor you.

31And I will make your cities a ruin, and I will lay waste your sanctuaries, and I will not smell the pleasing aroma of your offerings.

32And I myself will lay the land waste, and your enemies who dwell in it will be appalled at it.

33And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you; and your land will become a desolation, and your cities will become ruins.

34Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths all the days of its desolation, while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.

35All the days of its desolation it shall rest—the rest that it did not have during your Sabbaths, while you were dwelling on it.

36As for those of you who remain, I will bring faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, and the sound of a driven leaf will pursue them; they will flee as one flees from the sword, and they will fall when no one is pursuing.

37They will stumble over one another as if before a sword, though no one is pursuing; and you will have no power to stand before your enemies.

38You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will consume you.

39And those of you who remain will waste away in the lands of your enemies because of their iniquity; and also because of the iniquities of their fathers with them they will waste away.

40But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in the unfaithfulness by which they were unfaithful to me, and also that they walked contrary to me,

41I too will walk contrary to them and bring them into the land of their enemies; or then their uncircumcised heart will be humbled, and then they will accept the punishment for their iniquity.

42Then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham I will remember; and I will remember the land.

43But the land will be abandoned by them and will enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, and they will accept the punishment for their iniquity, because—indeed, because—they rejected my judgments and their soul abhorred my statutes.

44Yet even then, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, and I will not abhor them so as to destroy them, to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God.

45But I will remember for them the covenant with their forefathers, whom I brought out from the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, to be their God: I am Yahweh.

46These are the statutes and the judgments and the laws that Yahweh gave between himself and the sons of Israel at Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
