Leviticus 4

1And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Speak to the sons of Israel, saying: If a person sins unintentionally in regard to any of the commandments of Yahweh concerning things that should not be done, and does one of them,

3If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, then he shall present for the sin that he has committed a bull, a son of the herd, without blemish, to Yahweh as a sin offering.

4He shall bring the bull to the entrance of the tent of meeting before Yahweh, and he shall lay his hand on the head of the bull and slaughter the bull before Yahweh.

5And the anointed priest shall take some of the bull's blood and bring it into the tent of meeting.

6The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before Yahweh, in front of the curtain of the sanctuary.

7And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before Yahweh, which is in the tent of meeting, and he shall pour out all the bull’s blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

8And he shall remove from it all the fat of the sin offering bull: the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails,

9and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and the appendage on the liver, along with the kidneys, he shall remove it.

10just as it is removed from the ox of the sacrifice of peace offerings, and the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.

11But the hide of the bull, and all its flesh, with its head and with its legs and its entrails and its dung—

12He shall bring out the whole bull to a clean place outside the camp, to the ash dump, and burn it on wood in the fire; it shall be burned at the ash dump.

13And if the whole congregation of Israel sins unintentionally, and the matter is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they do one of all the things that Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and they become guilty,

14and the sin that they committed becomes known, then the assembly shall present a bull, a son of the herd, as a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting.

15And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before Yahweh, and the bull shall be slaughtered before Yahweh.

16Then the anointed priest shall bring some of the bull's blood into the tent of meeting.

17Then the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before Yahweh, in front of the curtain.

18And from the blood he shall put some on the horns of the altar that is before Yahweh, which is in the tent of meeting, and all the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

19And he shall remove all its fat from it and burn it on the altar.

20He shall do with the bull just as he did with the bull of the sin offering; so he shall do with it. And the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven.

21He shall bring the bull outside the camp and burn it, just as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly.

22When a leader sins and unintentionally does one of any of the things that Yahweh his God has commanded not to be done, and becomes guilty,

23or if the sin that he has committed is made known to him, then he shall bring as his offering a male goat without blemish.

24And he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat and slaughter it in the place where they slaughter the burnt offering before Yahweh. It is a sin offering.

25Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and he shall pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering.

26And he shall burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings. Thus the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin, and he shall be forgiven.

27And if one person from the common people sins unintentionally by doing one of Yahweh’s commandments that must not be done, and becomes guilty,

28Or if the sin that he has committed is made known to him, then he shall bring as his offering for the sin that he has committed a female goat without blemish.

29And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.

30And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and he shall pour out all its blood at the base of the altar.

31And he shall remove all its fat, just as the fat is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings, and the priest shall burn it on the altar as a pleasing aroma to Yahweh. And the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

32And if he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without blemish.

33And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it for a sin offering in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered.

34Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and he shall pour out all its blood at the base of the altar.

35And he shall remove all its fat, just as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings, and the priest shall burn them on the altar, on the food offerings of Yahweh. Thus the priest shall make atonement for him concerning the sin that he committed, and he shall be forgiven.
