Micah 4
LORD Reigns Above All Nations
Open in the reader →1And it will happen in the latter days that the mountain of the house of Yahweh will be established as the chief of the mountains, and it will be lifted up above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.
And many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For from Zion Torah will go out, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.
And he will judge between many peoples, and will arbitrate for strong nations far away; and they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war anymore.
And each will sit under his vine and under his fig tree, and there will be no one to make them afraid, for the mouth of Yahweh of Armies has spoken.
For all the peoples walk, each in the name of his god, but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.
In that day, declares Yahweh, I will gather the lame, and I will assemble the outcast, even those whom I have afflicted.
And I will make the lame a remnant, and the outcast a strong nation; and Yahweh will reign over them on Mount Zion from now and forever.
And you, tower of the flock, hill of daughter Zion—to you it will come, yes, the former dominion will come, the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem.
Why do you cry out so loudly? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished, that labor pains have seized you like a woman giving birth?
Writhe and groan, daughter Zion, like a woman giving birth; for now you will go out from the city and dwell in the field, and you will go as far as Babylon. There you will be rescued; there Yahweh will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.
And now many nations have gathered against you, saying, “Let her be defiled, and let our eyes look on Zion.”
But they do not know the thoughts of Yahweh, and they do not understand his plan, for he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.
Rise and thresh, daughter Zion, for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hooves bronze; you will crush many peoples, and I will devote their gain to Yahweh, and their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
Now muster yourself in troops, daughter of troops; a siege is set against us. With a rod they strike the judge of Israel on the cheek.
