Psalms 91
God Protects the Faithful
Open in the reader →1The one who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will remain in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to Yahweh, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the fowler’s trap, from the deadly plague.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will take refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and a rampart.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day.
nor the plague that walks in darkness, nor the destruction that lays waste at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes and see the wicked repaid.
For you have made Yahweh—my refuge, the Most High—your dwelling place.
No harm will befall you, and no plague will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
They will carry you on their hands, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the venomous snake; you will trample the young lion and the serpent.
Because he clings to me, I will rescue him; I will set him on high, because he knows my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
I will satisfy him with long life, and I will show him my salvation.
