Psalms 92

A psalm, a song for the Sabbath day.

1It is good to give thanks to Yahweh and to sing praise to your name, O Most High,

2to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness night after night,

3On the ten-stringed instrument and on the harp, with melody on the lyre.

4For you have made me glad, O Yahweh, by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.

5How great are your works, O Yahweh; your thoughts are very deep.

6A brutish man does not know, and a fool does not understand this:

7When the wicked sprout like grass and all who do evil flourish, it is only to be destroyed forever.

8But you are on high forever, O Yahweh.

9For behold, your enemies, O Yahweh—for behold, your enemies will perish; all who do evil will be scattered.

10But you have raised my horn like that of a wild ox; I am moistened with fresh oil.

11My eye has looked on my foes; my ears hear of the evildoers who rise against me.

12The righteous flourishes like the palm tree; he grows like a cedar in Lebanon.

13Planted in the house of Yahweh, they will flourish in the courts of our God.

14They still bear fruit in old age; they are lush and green,

15to declare that Yahweh is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
